Environmental, Social & Governance Policy of Gift Real Estate(GRE)
ESG Policy of GRE
ESG Commitment: GRE strive to build sustainable, equitable, healthy, and diverse communities through a combination of innovative real estate solutions and exemplary environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. This commitment informs every aspect of our business, including how we design and build new projects, operate our portfolio, collaborate with stakeholders and
report progress.

1. Environmental Stewardship
1.1. Overview: We aim to embed environmental stewardship in everything we do. We believe we have a responsibility to minimize the energy, carbon, water and waste impacts of our business and recognize that these impacts occur not just in the daily operations of our portfolio but also through our entire value chain. As a result, we strive to reduce environmental impacts across the full life cycle of our buildings and our corporate operations.
1.2. Statement on Climate Change:
We recognize that climate change presents both risks and opportunities for our industry and our business, including disruptions to the business operations of our clients and partners. As a responsible corporate citizen, we are taking action to mitigate these risks to our company and in the communities in which we operate. In addition, ignoring sustainable investment opportunities such as
energy efficiency, water and waste management in investment portfolios may lead to a loss of value and materially increase risk. Climate change is one of the greatest environmental risks that our
investment portfolio faces.GRE measures the company’s environmental practices through internal and external data audits.
Biodiversity
GRE supports the protection of biodiversity by pursuing Green building certifications for our major facilities.
1.3. Investing in Sustainable Buildings
1.3.1. Building Operations: We will have environmental performance target for the portfolio that addresses energy and water consumption. To achieve our targets, each of our properties will be monitored in real time by our engineering staff and third party consultants and the results are reviewed by our Sustainability Committee. Our energy consumption initiatives include energy retrofits, energy management system upgrades, equipment upgrades, and real-time energy
management software.
GRE supports minimizing and reducing water usage as part of our environmental protection efforts at our major existing and new-build facilities. From time to time, GRE may conduct a survey of water
withdrawal from its major facilities to promote minimizing water usage.
We will report environmental performance on a regular basis to the EPA.
1.3.2. Corporate Office: Although the environmental impacts of our corporate operations are a small part of our overall footprint, we believe it is important to live our values. As a result, we will adopt
sustainability policies for our HQ and all satellite offices that include criteria such as energy-efficient lighting and appliances, water-efficient fixtures, recycling programs, and waste collection events.
1.4. Engaging with Others
1.4.1. Tenant Engagement: Because GRE control only a small part of our total environmental footprint, it is critical that GRE engage both internal and external stakeholders to drive sustainable innovation and systematic change. Tenant engagement is at the core of this mission. GRE drive tenant awareness and behavior change by providing infrastructure and amenities that make it easier for our tenants to implement sustainable practices.
